Santos Supporters Ambush Internacional Bus on BR-101 in Itapema

Overview

• Violence erupted around 10:30 a.m. at km 148 of BR-101 in Itapema, temporarily blocking traffic before PRF reopened the road.
• According to PRF, groups of Santos fans in multiple buses slowed the highway to intercept a single bus carrying Internacional supporters.
• Attackers used sticks, stones and fireworks, shattering windows and removing belongings as the targeted bus reversed and collided with a truck while trying to flee.
• Roughly 200 people were involved, with six injured receiving on‑site care from Samu and no hospital transfers reported.
• PRF and Military Police detained 10 people and forwarded them to Civil Police as investigations continue, with identified caravans escorted out of Santa Catarina.
