Santiment Snapshot Shows Ethereum Far Outpacing Bitcoin in Non-Empty Wallets

The address gap reflects Ethereum’s multi-use activity versus Bitcoin’s store-of-value profile.

Overview

  • Ethereum holds about 167.96 million non-empty wallets versus Bitcoin’s 57.62 million, according to Santiment’s December data.
  • Tether leads stablecoins with roughly 9.63 million non-empty wallets, followed by Dogecoin at 8.13 million and the XRP Ledger at 7.41 million; Cardano stands near 4.54 million and USD Coin at 4.39 million.
  • Santiment notes Ethereum’s network growth has accelerated, averaging about 163,000 new addresses per day compared with 124,000 in July.
  • XRP wallet counts have risen roughly 11% since mid-July even as price retraced sharply, underscoring that address growth can diverge from price action.
  • Glassnode data reported by AMBCrypto shows Bitcoin exchange balances dipped from about 2.98 million to 2.94 million between mid-November and mid-December, suggesting reduced near-term selling pressure.
