Overview

• Investigators say the 11-month-old picked up a white powder at her grandmother’s Range Avenue apartment and later tested positive for fentanyl.
• Grandmother Beverly Hansel administered Narcan on site but, along with mother Shaylynne Watson, delayed seeking medical help for several hours.
• A search warrant at the apartment uncovered narcotics paraphernalia, methamphetamine and black tar heroin in areas accessible to the children.
• Watson, 35, was booked on one count of felony child endangerment while Hansel, 54, faces child endangerment and drug possession charges.
• Child Protective Services removed all four children, ages 11 months to 9 years, from Watson’s custody and they remain in CPS care pending legal proceedings.
