Santa Monica Man Ordered Jailed on Federal Doxxing Charge Targeting ICE Lawyer

Prosecutors are invoking a statute that shields federal employees’ personal data, with an arraignment scheduled for October 14.

Overview

  • Gregory John Curcio, 68, was arrested Monday and made an initial appearance Tuesday in Los Angeles federal court, where a magistrate ordered him held without bond.
  • A criminal complaint alleges he identified an ICE attorney online in February 2025, posted her home address, and urged others to “swat” her.
  • Prosecutors say the conduct was part of a harassment campaign and false allegations directed at the attorney and her family beginning at least in January 2024.
  • Investigators from ICE’s Office of Responsibility are handling the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren E. Restrepo of the Justice Department’s National Security Division is prosecuting.
  • If convicted on the federal charge, Curcio faces a statutory maximum of five years in prison, and the complaint’s allegations have not been proven in court.
