Santa Fe Sets 3.8% Inflation Catch-Up for Public Workers, To Be Paid With November Wages

The province will apply a one-off correction under its pledge to match prices without reopening collective bargaining.

Overview

  • The adjustment addresses the July–October inflation gap calculated at about 3.8% from IPEC data showing 8.8% accumulated inflation.
  • Workers whose raises fell below 8.8% will receive compensatory increases, while those above that mark will get a fixed 30,000‑peso payment.
  • November pay will include the scheduled 1% rise, lifting salaries to 9.8% above June levels, and December will reach 10.8% with another 1%.
  • The measure will be reflected in November payroll and will also impact pensioners, according to Economy Minister Pablo Olivares.
  • Teachers’ union Amsafé rejected the plan as insufficient and called for wage talks to be reopened.
