Overview

  • The Santa Fe Health Ministry filed a complaint with the provincial prosecutor’s office over the disappearance from Iturraspe Hospital’s ICU and opened an internal administrative inquiry.
  • Hospital director Francisco Sánchez Guerra said the storage area has restricted access, warned that improper use can be deadly, and confirmed the hospital removed HLB lots in May through traceability checks.
  • Separately, the federal case targets HLB Pharma and Laboratorios Ramallo for alleged manufacturing, distribution, omission of recall and adulteration of the fentanyl lots 31.202 and 31.244, which together exceeded 300,000 ampoules.
  • Ariel García Furfaro completed his court statement, denied responsibility for the contamination, accused ex-apoderado Andrés Quinteros of introducing bacteria, and criticized ANMAT’s oversight.
  • Malbrán analyses identified Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella variicola and Ralstonia mannitolilytica in seized vials, with forensic and clinical reviews continuing to link infections to the December production runs.
