Santa Delivers Gifts to Pediatric Patients in A Coruña and Gijón Hospitals

Community coordination enabled roof access, room-by-room visits, gift delivery, staff recognition.

Overview

  • At A Coruña’s Hospital Teresa Herrera, organized with pediatric cancer association Asanog, roughly twenty hospitalized children received a visit and presents.
  • In Gijón, Santa arrived at Hospital de Cabueñes around 11:30 a.m., reaching the sixth-floor Pediatric unit after firefighters set a ladder from the roof.
  • Nine inpatients between five months and 13 years met Santa and got gifts, while a tenth child was discharged earlier that morning.
  • The visit included isolated rooms and the Neonatology area, with photos for families and sweets handed to pediatricians, nurses, and support staff.
  • Area V health manager María Luisa Sánchez thanked the initiative for bringing “magic and excitement,” and the hospital noted a scheduled visit by Sporting de Gijón players on January 2.
