Santa-Clad Lifeguard Rescues Three Paddleboarders at Copacabana Beach

A firefighter dressed as Santa Claus saved three struggling paddleboarders during a Christmas charity event in Rio de Janeiro.

Sergeant Thiago Carvalho de Paiva, a firefighter and trained lifeguard, was participating in a Christmas event at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.
Dressed as Santa Claus, he was distributing gifts to children with disabilities from a jet ski as part of a collaboration between the local fire department and a community initiative.
During the event, he noticed three paddleboarders struggling to return to shore and immediately diverted his jet ski to assist them.
Carvalho de Paiva successfully rescued all three individuals and brought them safely to the beach without any reported injuries.
The Christmas event aimed to bring joy to children with disabilities while showcasing the importance of public safety and community support.
