- Santa Anita general manager Nate Newby said the early decision gives stakeholders notice as AccuWeather projects a greater than 90% chance of rain Tuesday through Saturday.
- All 11 races from the original card move to Sunday with an 11 a.m. first post, and entries for the revised program are being set.
- The rescheduled opener retains six stakes: Grade I Malibu, La Brea, and American Oaks; Grade II Laffit Pincay Jr. and Mathis Mile; and Grade III San Gabriel.
- Officials plan to run the turf stakes only if the grass course dries sufficiently after the storms.
