Overview
- After Monday’s moderate event with verified wind advisories in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, a second round is expected Wednesday into Thursday.
- Forecasts call for northeast winds of 20–30 mph with gusts into the mid-40s and isolated 50 mph in higher terrain, strongest in typical corridors from the western San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys into the Santa Monica Mountains and Ventura County.
- Offshore winds will also peak across the North Bay, Bay Area and Santa Cruz Mountains Wednesday morning, with gusts around 30–45 mph before easing later in the day.
- High surf and Beach Hazards Statements remain in effect on parts of the Central Coast, with 10–14 foot breakers, long lulls and elevated sneaker-wave and rip-current risk enhanced by morning king tides.
- Daytime highs generally hold in the mid-60s to low 70s, but very cold nights include freeze warnings in some inland valleys such as the Antelope Valley, with conditions trending quieter and warmer late week.
