Overview

• Officers responded around 8:20 p.m. Monday to the 400 block of South Susan Street and found a 13-year-old with an upper-torso gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.
• Three other teens, ages 14, 15 and 16, were hospitalized with gunshot wounds and are expected to survive, according to Santa Ana police.
• Investigators say the victims and the suspected shooters are believed to be gang-affiliated, based on initial statements from the department.
