Overview
- New toll rates take effect at midnight on 1 March 2026 following formal publication in the Government Gazette on 5 February.
- The increase applies to all toll plazas managed by SANRAL nationwide, with tariffs set across four vehicle classes.
- The adjustment is tied to the Consumer Price Index as measured by Statistics South Africa and is lower than last year’s 4.85% rise.
- SANRAL says toll income funds the operation, maintenance and upgrading of the national toll network and services debt from major projects, while acknowledging pressure on households and businesses.
- Selected 2026 Class 1 fees include N3 Tugela at R100.00, N3 Mooi at R70.00, N3 Wilge at R94.00, N1 Carousel at R75.00 and N4 Diamond Hill at R51.00.
