Overview
- The 1994-batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre assumed office with effect from November 1, 2025.
- Prior to BIS, he served as Additional Secretary in DARE and as Secretary of ICAR.
- He led digital transformation in research management at DARE and ICAR, expanding the Kisan Sarathi portal to link farmers with agricultural scientists.
- His portfolio spans strategic planning across agriculture, food logistics, the defence industry, industrial promotion, finance and social sectors, including oversight of World Bank projects.
- As BIS chief, he will also serve as President of India’s IEC national committee, connecting domestic standards work with global forums.
