SANA Says Some SDF Fighters Defy Aleppo Exit Order After Cease-Fire

Turkey describes constant contacts with Damascus plus Washington to seek a negotiated de‑escalation.

Overview

  • Syrian state agency SANA, citing a military source, reports that a group of SDF fighters in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsud neighborhood refused to leave and opened fire on security forces despite a 03:00 cease-fire.
  • SANA says the fighters had been ordered to depart by 09:00 Friday as Syrian internal security took control of Kurdish districts and began patrols.
  • Turkish state broadcaster TRT, citing security sources, says the National Intelligence Organization is running round‑the‑clock monitoring and is in ongoing talks with Syria and the United States to resolve the confrontation peacefully.
  • The same Turkish sources report that parts of Ashrafiya and Beni‑Zeyd are now under central government control and that a corridor exists for SDF elements to withdraw east of the Euphrates.
  • Those sources also attribute at least nine civilian deaths and more than 55 injuries in Aleppo to SDF shelling and accuse the group of using residential areas as human shields.
