San Rafael School Board Member Arrested on Child Sexual Assault Charges

San Rafael police allege the 22-year-old former paraeducator assaulted a 16-year-old student off campus in late 2023.

  • Rodas was arrested on June 10 and booked into the Marin County Jail on charges of sexual assault with a minor, child molestation and sexual battery.
  • Authorities allege he assaulted the same 16-year-old student in at least three separate encounters.
  • He served as a paraeducator at Marin’s Community School during the alleged incidents and left that position in June 2024.
  • After being elected to the San Rafael City Schools Board of Education in December 2024, his board duties will be suspended pending the legal proceedings.
  • Police have provided support to the victim, whose identity is protected, and say there is no indication of misconduct involving other San Rafael City Schools students.
