Overview

  • Three Hillsdale High School students first poured oil on Miceli’s porch on Friday before returning early Saturday to egg the home of a classmate who’d reportedly bullied his daughter.
  • Moments after the egging, Miceli fired two rounds at the fleeing SUV, telling officers he aimed at the tires; one bullet struck the front passenger-side panel.
  • Prosecutors charged Miceli with multiple felonies including three counts of assault with a firearm; shooting at an occupied vehicle; unlawful possession of an automatic rifle.
  • Authorities seized an illegal .50 Browning automatic rifle along with several types of ammunition during a search of his Annapolis Drive home.
  • Neighbors say the June 9 preliminary hearing highlights gaps in school anti-bullying measures as well as hazards of parental vigilantism.
