San Marcos Sets March Dates and Opens Payments for 2026-II Admissions Exam

Eligibility is tighter under new regulations, with the online registration link still pending.

Overview

  • UNMSM scheduled the 2026-II admissions exam for March 7–8 and 14–15, assigning test days by academic area, with Medicine on March 15.
  • The OCA released alphabetized windows for the process from January 5 to February 26, including a late period for all letters from February 16 to 26.
  • Applicants must purchase the Admissions Rulebook for S/70 and pay the registration fee of S/800 for private-school graduates or S/400 for public-school graduates via Banco de la Nación or Págalo.pe, with a six-hour wait after payment.
  • Under the updated rules, students in 1st–4th year of secondary school may sit the exam but cannot claim a seat or admission certificate; only those in 5th year in 2025 or graduates may compete for vacancies.
  • The regulation requires applicants with active enrollment at San Marcos or other public universities to permanently withdraw to obtain the new admission certificate, and it introduces temporary disqualification for candidates with two or three prior admissions.
