- Investigators say the bronze Momotaro statue was cut down at about 7:08 a.m. on Sept. 25 at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown San Jose.
- New surveillance images show two suspects moving the statue in a shopping cart and heading north through the park toward Park Avenue.
- Police described the photos as low in detail but expressed hope that community members can identify the people shown.
- The San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs called the piece an important part of the community and noted it was a sister-city gift from Okayama, Japan.
