San Jose Man Arrested After Confessing to Two Killings

Police say his statements led officers to two separate bodies and investigators are now asking the public for tips.

Overview

  • A man flagged down a San Jose patrol officer on Saturday around 5:14 p.m. and told the officer he had killed someone, which led police to a body near Lelong Avenue and Alma Avenue.
  • During questioning the suspect gave information that led detectives to a second scene near Autumn Parkway and Coleman Avenue, where they found another deceased person.
  • Authorities identified the suspect as 28-year-old Marcelino Castro and booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on two counts of murder.
  • Police have not released a motive, the timing of the deaths, the weapon or the victims’ identities and the department’s homicide unit is asking anyone with information to call 408-277-5283 or email the detectives assigned to the case.
  • The two deaths are being counted as San Jose’s 20th and 21st homicides of 2026 and investigators say more details will be released as the probe continues.
