Overview

  • The South Fork of the San Gabriel River crested at 30.9 feet Saturday afternoon, more than three times its 9-foot major flood stage.
  • Flash flood warnings remain active in Williamson, Travis, Blanco and Burnet counties as additional heavy showers threaten more flooding.
  • Evacuation orders cover low-lying mobile home parks and apartment complexes along the river in Georgetown and nearby Liberty Hill.
  • Swift water rescue teams and Texas National Guard helicopters and boats have saved around 25 people and evacuated 16 residents from a Liberty Hill care facility.
  • Shelters at Georgetown Recreation Center and First United Methodist Church are open, while authorities have blocked low-water crossings to protect motorists.
