San Francisco’s Downtown First Thursdays Expands with New Programming for 2025

The popular monthly event series will add a country-themed street party and a symposium speaker series as part of its extended run through December 2025.

• Downtown First Thursdays, launched in May 2024, has been extended through December 2025 after consistently drawing tens of thousands of attendees each month.
• Organizers announced two major additions: a 'Downtown Hoedown' featuring country music, line dancing, and a mechanical bull, and a symposium speaker series at Salesforce Park on 'cities of the future.'
• The Downtown Hoedown, running from May to October, is sponsored by Levi Strauss & Co. and will take place in the newly designated Front Street entertainment district.
• The symposium series, in partnership with KQED and City Arts & Lectures, will host notable speakers, including actors, athletes, and activists, from June to October.
• The event series, produced by Into the Streets and Civic Joy Fund, continues to revitalize downtown San Francisco, boosting local businesses and fostering community engagement.
