• The “Queer Joy Is Resistance” theme was chosen by SF Pride participants as a statement of resilience in response to federal rollbacks on DEI policies.
• Organizers said grassroots and volunteer support stepped in after a slew of major sponsors pulled out earlier this year following the Trump administration’s crackdown on DEI policies.
• More than 200 contingents marched along Market Street, including private companies, nonprofits, international consulates and five grand marshals representing diverse LGBTQ+ communities.
• The weekend program featured the Trans March and a two-day Civic Center festival with performances by Michaela Jaé, Saucy Santana and dozens of community stages alongside a massive street fair.
• As night fell Sunday, rainbow laser projections over Market Street served as a symbol of hope and continued solidarity in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights.
