San Francisco Man Arrested for $500K BART Vandalism

Saqueo Delcidmontenegro is accused of damaging glass canopies at three downtown BART stations, incurring significant repair costs.

BART police arrested Saqueo Delcidmontenegro on Tuesday after a transit ambassador recognized him from a flyer.
The suspect allegedly smashed 29 glass panels at Embarcadero, Montgomery, and Powell Street stations starting October 5.
The damaged panels are part of new canopies required by law to protect outdoor escalators from the elements.
The total cost of the vandalism is estimated to exceed $500,000.
Delcidmontenegro faces five counts of felony vandalism and is currently held in San Francisco County Jail.
