Lee is expected to serve as the Giants' new center fielder, filling the team's offseason priorities of adding athleticism, defense, and the ability to put the ball in play.
Lee's baseball skills were evident from the extensive scouting the Giants did of his play in the Korean league and were reinforced with his play in the World Baseball Classic.
Lee's contract includes an opt-out after the 2027 season, and if he stays for the entire contract, the Giants would owe his former team, the Kiwoom Heroes, an $18,825,000 posting fee.
Lee is fully recovered from an ankle injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the 2023 season, and he is slated to be the team's opening day starter in center field.
