Overview
- At approximately 1:10 a.m. on March 15, a woman entered what she believed was her rideshare vehicle in the 700 block of Grand Avenue in Pacific Beach and was taken a few miles away before the driver allegedly sexually assaulted her.
- Authorities described the suspect as a mixed-race man in his 30s with brown eyes, shoulder-length curly hair, a mustache, beard and an average-to-muscular build.
- Police believe the suspect may have been driving a four-door Toyota Prius from the 2022 to 2025 model years or a similar vehicle.
- The San Diego Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit and Crime Stoppers have urged anyone with information to call 619-531-2554 or 888-580-8477.
- Authorities noted two similar mistaken rideshare incidents near San Diego State University in 2023 but have not determined any connection to the Pacific Beach case.
