San Diego Granted MLS Expansion Slot, to Kick Off Play in 2025

San Diego will join Major League Soccer as its 30th franchise, debuting in 2025
The team will play in Snapdragon Stadium and is owned by Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Mansour, the Sycuan Tribe, and Padres star Manny Machado.
Mansour paid $500 million for the expansion franchise rights.
The team will share Snapdragon Stadium with the San Diego Wave of the National Women's Soccer League.
The Sycuan Tribe's participation was key to San Diego landing the MLS team.
