San Carlos Pedestrian Struck by Two Vehicles on Mission Gorge Road Is Killed

Overview

• The 38-year-old woman was hit mid-block shortly after 4:30 a.m. in the 7500 block of Mission Gorge Road near Conestoga Way.
• A 2021 Honda CRV driven by a 47-year-old man struck her first as she crossed westbound, and he told police he saw her at the last minute.
• While she was lying in the roadway, a 2022 Tesla Model Y driven by a 66-year-old man ran over her.
• Both drivers stopped after the collisions, and the second driver reported the incident to police shortly after 4:40 a.m.
• The woman died at the scene, her identity has not been released, and the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating.
