Overview

• Deputies responded Saturday afternoon to the 7600 block of Chancery Gate in Alamo Ranch after the mother reported finding her 3-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son in a vehicle.
• First responders attempted life-saving measures, including CPR, but both children were pronounced dead at the scene.
• The mother, identified as 28-year-old Tiona Lasaisha Islar, faces two counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury or death and remains in custody on $300,000 bond.
• Sheriff Javier Salazar said there are inconsistencies in Islar’s account of how the children ended up in the vehicle, and the cause of death has not been determined.
• BCSO requested neighbor video from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., called in the medical examiner and Child Protective Services, and noted at least one recent CPS response to the home.
