Samuel Haskell Jr. Arrested on Suspicion of Murder After Woman's Torso Found

Haskell Jr. Suspected of Dismembering Wife; Hired Laborers to Move Bags Containing Body Parts

Samuel Haskell Jr., son of former Miss America Organization CEO Sam Haskell Sr., was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's torso was found in a dumpster in California.
Haskell Jr. allegedly hired day laborers to move three large trash bags from his home, claiming they contained rocks. The laborers discovered body parts in the bags and returned them to Haskell Jr.'s driveway before reporting the incident to the police.
Surveillance footage shows Haskell Jr. dumping a large, heavy garbage bag into a dumpster, which is believed to be the same dumpster where the dismembered torso was found.
Haskell Jr.'s wife, Mei Haskell, and her parents, Yanxiang Wang and Gaoshen Li, are currently missing. The couple's three children have been placed in the care of the county's Department of Children and Family Services.
Police found evidence of dismemberment at Haskell Jr.'s home, and believe the torso found in the dumpster belongs to Mei Haskell. Haskell Jr. is being held on $2 million bail and is due to appear in court on Monday.
