• Edmonton Police Service says the 14-year-old’s remains were located Thursday in a rural area outside the city and his family has been notified.
• Bryan Farrell, 38, was arrested Oct. 15 and charged with second-degree murder and interfering with a body, alongside 13 other offences including aggravated assault, arson, weapons counts, uttering threats, and fraud over $5,000.
• Police say Farrell is the only person charged in the case and they are not seeking other suspects.
• Samuel was last seen June 1 on surveillance video near Holy Cross School before going to a friend’s home in west Edmonton’s Canora neighbourhood, where police executed a search warrant on Sept. 18.
• Investigators also noted a highly suspicious fire at that duplex on Sept. 29, as search efforts expanded to rural zones such as near Carrot Creek using cadaver dogs and drones; none of the allegations have been proven in court.
