Samsung's Project Moohan XR Headset May Rival Apple Vision Pro in Price and Features

Rumored to feature advanced OLED displays and AI capabilities, Samsung’s upcoming XR device is speculated to compete in the high-end market despite limited production plans.

Samsung’s Project Moohan XR headset is rumored to feature 3,800 PPI OLED on Silicon displays, surpassing the 3,400 PPI displays of Apple’s Vision Pro.
The device is reportedly part of a collaboration between Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm, running on the new Android XR platform and powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor.
Samsung is expected to produce only 100,000 units annually, indicating a niche market focus similar to Apple’s Vision Pro, which sold an estimated 420,000 units in 2024.
Speculated features include full-color passthrough for augmented reality and Google’s Gemini AI, which integrates with external cameras for real-time environmental insights.
Despite the premium focus of Project Moohan, Samsung is also planning mid-range XR devices for future releases, aiming to diversify its presence in the immersive tech market.
