Overview
- Samsung began pushing Android 16-based One UI 8 to the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra in Europe and India, marking the series’ fourth and last OS upgrade.
- Updates expanded widely: Galaxy S23 models went live in the US, Z Fold 5/Flip 5 received the update in the US, Z Fold 4/Flip 4 rolled out across Africa, Asia and Europe, and Tab S10+ and Ultra reached India, the UK and the US.
- Midrange phones joined the list, with Galaxy A34 and A25 getting stable builds in Europe and India seeing releases for the Galaxy F36 and M36.
- One UI 8 delivers a revamped DeX based on Android 16’s Desktop Mode, redesigned Quick Share, Samsung Internet and My Files, expanded Modes & Routines, and stronger Secure Folder protections, though feature availability can vary by device.
- The S22 line will continue receiving about a year of security patches after this release, and rollouts remain staged by region with firmware builds around 2–3GB and differing monthly security patches.
