Samsung Urges Galaxy Users to Activate AI Theft Protection Across Older Models

The update addresses a global surge in smartphone thefts by urging users to enable advanced security features

  • One UI 7’s AI-driven theft protection is now available on Galaxy S22, S23, S24 and all Fold and Flip devices from generation 5 onward
  • Samsung recommends activating Anti-Theft Protection under Settings > Security & Privacy > Find My Mobile to lock and secure devices
  • The suite uses AI motion detection, offline lock after network loss, remote lock via phone number, biometric checks in unfamiliar locations and a 60-minute reset delay
  • The feature, originally limited to the Galaxy S25 lineup, has been extended to millions of older Galaxy handsets
  • One UI 8 based on Android 16 is currently in beta on the Galaxy S25 series ahead of its planned launch with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7
