Samsung to Retire DeX for Windows with One UI 7 Update

The upcoming One UI 7 software will shift users to Microsoft's Phone Link for PC connectivity, replacing Samsung's DeX app on Windows.

Samsung confirmed that support for its DeX for Windows app will end with the release of One UI 7 in 2025.
DeX allowed users to connect their smartphones to PCs for a desktop-like interface and multitasking capabilities.
Users are encouraged to transition to Microsoft's Phone Link, which offers similar features like screen mirroring, file transfers, and app access.
The decision to discontinue DeX for Windows may stem from low user adoption, with Samsung focusing DeX on TVs, monitors, and other large displays.
One UI 7, which will debut in beta later this month, will also introduce new AI-powered features and a refreshed design.
