Samsung Rolls Out One UI 8 Beta for Galaxy S25 Series in US, UK, Germany and South Korea

Built with Google, the Android 16-based beta introduces multimodal AI interactions with on-device processing ahead of its full release on Samsung’s foldable smartphones this summer.

Overview

  • Users of Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra can enrol in the One UI 8 beta via the Samsung Members app in Germany, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States, while the S25 Edge remains ineligible.
  • One UI 8 is the first Samsung interface to adopt Android 16, bringing context-aware AI features like Now Bar and Now Brief that analyse screen content and learn user routines.
  • The update adds Auracast audio sharing over Bluetooth LE Audio, a redesigned Reminder app with voice input and sharing templates, and a revamped Quick Share for one-tap file transfers.
  • New privacy controls let users choose on-device AI processing for Galaxy AI experiences, with sensitive data protected by the Samsung Knox Vault secure enclave.
  • Samsung plans to expand the beta to more regions and models in the coming months, and will launch the stable One UI 8 alongside its Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 foldable handsets this summer.
