Samsung Rolls Out One UI 7 Globally While Testing One UI 8 for Foldable Launch

The Android 15-based One UI 7 update is reaching flagship and older devices, as internal tests for the next-generation One UI 8 advance ahead of Android 16's release.

Samsung has begun the global rollout of its stable One UI 7 update, starting with flagship devices like the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
The rollout is staggered by region and device, with U.S. updates expected to begin on April 10, while other regions may see delays of a few weeks.
One UI 7 introduces features such as the Now Bar for lockscreen controls, AI-powered tools like Writing Assist, and enhanced security measures including Maximum Restrictions to limit untrusted app installations.
Internal testing of One UI 8, based on Android 16, is reportedly underway, with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 expected to debut the new OS later this year.
Samsung's accelerated development cycle aligns with Google's confirmed June release of Android 16, reflecting efforts to stay competitive and address past delays in software updates.
