Samsung Rolls Out August 2026 Security Patch to Three Galaxy Z Foldables

Overview

• Samsung began delivering the August 2026 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in South Korea with firmware builds F966NKSSCBZH3, F766NKSSCBZH3, and F741NKSS4DZH5 respectively.
• The package addresses 56 vulnerabilities in prior firmware with Google contributing 38 fixes, including eight rated critical, and Samsung providing 18 fixes across several priority levels.
• The Galaxy Z Flip 6 update is reported at 402.05MB and the rollouts are being staged by market, so wider regional availability is expected to expand over the next few days.
• Owners can get the update by opening Settings > Software update > Check for updates, and should install it to close critical and high-severity Android and Samsung security holes.
• This security release comes before a larger software upgrade planned for these models—One UI 9.0 based on Android 17—which will be distributed separately and may change the user interface and features.
