Samsung Launches One UI 8 Beta for Galaxy Flagships on August 11

The initial beta in four key markets precedes a broader September deployment; a year-end firmware rollout will replace Tizen with Wear OS 6 on Galaxy Watches

Overview

  • Samsung will open the One UI 8 beta on August 11 for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in the US, UK, India and South Korea.
  • Starting in September, the beta program will expand to the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Tab S10 series and Galaxy A35/A36 handsets.
  • All Wear OS-based Galaxy Watches from Watch 4 through Watch 7 and FE models are set to receive One UI 8 Watch firmware by year-end, ending Tizen OS support.
  • One UI 8 on phones is built on Android 16 and introduces multimodal AI features, interface refinements and new health tools.
  • Users can enroll in the beta through the Samsung Members app with feature availability varying by device generation and region.
