Samsung Galaxy Phones to Serve as PC Webcams in New Feature

Collaboration with Microsoft Brings Enhanced Video Call Quality and AI Integration

Samsung, in collaboration with Microsoft, is introducing a feature that allows Galaxy phone owners to use their handset as a webcam for video calls on the Galaxy Book 4 laptop.
The new feature, announced at CES 2024, will enhance video call quality by utilizing the superior camera quality of Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung's AI-powered auto framing feature and a background blur option will be available when using the smartphone as a webcam.
Samsung is also integrating Microsoft's AI chatbot, Copilot, into the Galaxy Book 4 and Galaxy smartphones, automating tasks like reading and responding to messages.
Despite the focus on the upcoming Galaxy S24, Samsung says any Galaxy phone running One UI 1.0 and above can be used as a webcam.
