Overview
- The stable Android 16–based One UI 8 is now rolling out globally to the Galaxy S23 lineup, with users in countries including France, Germany, India, Malaysia, Spain and Turkey reporting builds around 3GB that carry the September 2025 security patch (EYI5).
- Samsung has expanded One UI 8 to more midrange devices, with the Galaxy A35 update going international starting in Iran (A356EXXU5CYI8), the Galaxy A55 reaching India, and the Galaxy Wide 8/M16 receiving the update in South Korea.
- Earlier this week the Galaxy A34 and A54 also picked up One UI 8 in Korea, and Samsung continues a staggered, device‑ and region‑specific rollout that typically begins in its home market before widening to other regions.
- One UI 8 focuses on functional upgrades rather than a visual overhaul, adding tools such as Audio Eraser for videos, a dynamic lock‑screen clock, improved DeX desktop mode, stronger Knox protections, better Quick Share and new Modes & Routines actions.
- Leaked internal builds of One UI 8.5 show a fully customizable Quick Panel, compact bottom tab bars, refreshed stock apps and a subtle 3D effect for icons, with early testers warning of possible battery impact; the update is expected to debut with Galaxy S26 but remains unconfirmed and in development.
