Samsung Expands One UI 8 Beta to Galaxy S23 and Key A-Series as Stable Release Nears

Android 16 beta builds arrive in India, South Korea, the UK with the September security patch.

  • Samsung opened One UI 8 testing to the Galaxy S23 lineup and the Galaxy A55, A54, A36, and A35, widening access beyond this summer’s flagship betas.
  • Initial releases carry the September 2025 security patch, with downloads around 3.1GB on the S23, ~1.9GB on the A55 (A556EXXUAZYH6), and ~2.1GB on the A36 (A366EXXU4ZYHD).
  • The update, based on Android 16, introduces a full-screen Quick Share, a redesigned Samsung Internet, upgraded DeX with rotation options, refreshed Reminders and Weather, and stronger Secure Folder controls.
  • Enrollment runs through the Samsung Members app, and testers are cautioned that early beta builds can contain significant bugs.
  • Samsung signals a phased stable rollout beginning this month for the Galaxy S25 series, while the A56 and A34 are not on the beta list and reports suggest Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 support is still to come.
