Overview
- Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 family on Wednesday at its Unpacked event in London, presenting a new passport-style Z Fold8 alongside the Z Fold8 Ultra and the clamshell Z Flip8.
- The Z Fold8 is billed as Samsung's lightest and thinnest foldable at about 201 grams with a 5.5‑inch outer display, a 7.6‑inch inner screen and a 4,800 mAh battery.
- The Z Fold8 Ultra targets creators and power users with an 8‑inch internal display, a 6.5‑inch external screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 200MP main sensor and 8K video recording.
- Samsung says a new titanium-based display structure, combining a titanium alloy film and an improved titanium plate, greatly reduces crease visibility on the foldable screens.
- All three phones carry premium starting prices in Europe and come with time-limited pre-order incentives on Samsung's site and app through August 6 that include trade-in valuation of up to two devices and checkout discounts.
