Samsung Cancels Galaxy S26 Edge, Plans to End Ultra-Thin Edge Line

Weak S25 Edge sales drove the decision, resetting next year’s Galaxy S26 lineup to three models.

Overview

  • South Korea’s Newspim reports Samsung scrapped the S26 Edge and will discontinue the Edge range after existing S25 Edge stock is sold, a claim echoed by SamMobile and other outlets.
  • An anonymous Samsung official quoted by Newspim said the slim line is “practically gone,” with no plan to restart S25 Edge production once units sell through.
  • Hana Investment & Securities data show the S25 Edge shipped about 190,000 units in its first month and 1.31 million by August, far below the S25 (8.28 million), S25+ (5.05 million) and S25 Ultra (12.18 million).
  • The 2026 lineup is now expected to be Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, and SamMobile reports the rumored “Pro” branding is not planned.
  • Reports say S26 Edge development had been completed before being shelved, as separate leaks point to a subtle S26 Ultra camera-module redesign in new case images.
