Samsung Begins Stable One UI 8 Rollout on Galaxy S25 Series

Most other Galaxy phones follow in October under a published, region‑staged schedule.

Overview

  • Stable One UI 8 (Android 16) started seeding on Sept. 15 for Galaxy S25 models with staged availability confirmed in Korea and reported in the US and UK.
  • Initial OTAs hit beta participants first with small deltas (example 555MB, build S93xNKSU5BYI3) while full installs for non‑beta users are about 3.8–3.9GB and include the Sept. 1, 2025 security patch.
  • Samsung unexpectedly included the Galaxy S25 Edge in the first wave in Korea with a large 3.44GB package and distinct firmware (S937NKSU2BYI3).
  • Feature additions center on Galaxy AI and security, including Now Bar, Now Brief, Gemini Live, Circle to Search, AI Results View, and protections such as Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), Knox Matrix, and upgraded Secure Wi‑Fi with PQC.
  • Samsung posted an initial roadmap placing S24, Fold6/Flip6, S23, S22, key Tab S10/S9 models and A‑series phones in October and moving remaining devices to November, noting that availability and specific features vary by market; the One UI 8 beta program is now closed and S25 devices are on a seven‑major‑upgrade track.
