Overview
- Stable Android 16–based One UI 8 is live for the Galaxy A36 in South Korea (build A366NKSU2BYI9) with the September 2025 security patch and a wider release expected in the coming weeks.
- Earlier this week Samsung began stable rollouts in Korea for the Galaxy S24 lineup—including S24 FE—the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, and Galaxy A56, first to beta participants (~400–600MB) followed by full OTAs of roughly 3.5–4GB.
- The update adds features such as Now Bar/Now Brief, an upgraded Samsung DeX built on Android 16’s Desktop Mode, a hardened Secure Folder, redesigned Quick Share, and UI refreshes across core apps.
- An official Samsung Members notice in India places the S24 family, 2024 foldables, and multiple A/M/F-series phones in October, with additional models targeted for November.
- In parallel, Samsung released a One UI 8 Watch beta for Galaxy Watch 6 in Korea, and separate leaks point to One UI 8.5 AI additions—Meeting Assist, Touch Assistant, Smart Clipboard, Social Composer—with code references suggesting One UI 9 based on Android 17.
