Samsung Accelerates One UI 8 Rollout as Galaxy Watch 7 Starts Getting Wear OS 6 in Korea and the U.S.

Verizon’s confirmation alongside new OTAs for midrange Galaxy phones underscores a rapid, staged push spanning wearables and smartphones.

Overview

  • The stable One UI 8 Watch update based on Wear OS 6 has begun for the Galaxy Watch 7 in South Korea with build BYI4, roughly a 2GB download that includes the September 2025 security patch.
  • Select users in the United States are now receiving the Galaxy Watch 7 update, with Verizon confirming availability for the 40mm and 44mm variants.
  • Beta participants on the Galaxy Watch 7 are seeing a much smaller delta of about 160MB, while non‑beta users should expect a multi‑gigabyte package.
  • On phones, Samsung has expanded the Android 16–based One UI 8 stable release to the Galaxy A33 and A53 (Korea), the M34 and M35 (India), the M54 (Asia and Latin America), the XCover 7 Pro, and Korea’s Wide 7 (M15) and Quantum 3 (M53).
  • Recent firmware builds (for example GYI2/GYI3 for A53/A33 and BYI6 for XCover 7 Pro) are typically 2GB or larger, and several devices are shipping with the September security patch rather than October’s.
