The 136km stage 4 began with a neutral zone at Murray Bridge, included the only climb of the day at Gemmell Hill near Strathalbyn, and concluded with an uphill finish at Port Elliot.
The final two stages of the Tour Down Under are expected to be less favorable for sprinters, with hilltop finishes on both days.
