Sam Kerr to Stand Trial for Alleged Racially Aggravated Harassment

The Matildas and Chelsea star faces charges related to a January 2023 incident involving a police officer in south-west London.

Sam Kerr, captain of Australia's Matildas and a Chelsea forward, appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
The 31-year-old is charged under the UK's Public Order Act for allegedly causing harassment, alarm, or distress to a police officer in January 2023.
The incident reportedly occurred in Twickenham, south-west London, and involved a dispute with a taxi driver before escalating with the officer.
Kerr pleaded not guilty to the charges in March 2024, and her trial is scheduled to begin on February 3, 2025.
The football star, recovering from an ACL injury that kept her out of competition for over a year, recently joined Chelsea teammates for a training camp in Portugal.
