• On July 27, a 34-year-old man shoved his girlfriend into a canal in Salta after a dispute outside a karaoke bar, leaving her unconscious and trapped underwater for about 15 minutes.
• Volunteer firefighters from the Salta Police, aided by local officers and SAMEC medical teams, pulled the victim from the canal and transported her to Hospital San Bernardo.
• Salta’s Gender Violence Prosecutor María Luján Sodero Calvet initially charged the suspect with attempted femicide under Argentina’s 2012 law.
