Salmonella Discovery Triggers Recall of BOSS Pistachio Nougat in England and Wales

The move follows a week of FSA notices about undeclared allergens across multiple UK retailers.

Overview

  • London Wholesalers Ltd recalled BOSS Sugar Free Persian Pistachio Nougat after testing found salmonella, with the alert limited to England and Wales.
  • The affected lot is 300g packs with batch code 140408 and a best before date of 9 September 2027, and customers are told not to eat it and to return it for a refund.
  • The FSA advises anyone with symptoms such as fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps to avoid work, school or nursery until 48 hours after symptoms stop.
  • Active FSA notices this week also cover mislabelled allergens, including Tesco Free From Christmas cupcakes (milk), Young’s Gastro Lemon & Pepper Fish Fillets (mustard) and The Bakewell Bakery mince pies (milk).
  • Additional actions include Asda’s recall of 10 Mini Duck Spring Rolls for an incorrect use-by date and recalls of Calbee snack chips for undeclared mustard or celery, with refunds available at point of purchase.
